New updates and impovements to Cloaked.
Hey Cloakers!
A lot of our efforts these past couple of weeks have revolved around our new Data Deletion services. A common piece of feedback we received was that people wanted to know more details about the process itself. So you should be seeing more updates to the Data Deletion log, with more granular information, in the days to come. Additionally, we’ve added support to help manually delete your data on sites where we cannot just DO it auto-magically. Extension 2.1.0 should be launching soon, implementing several fixes from the 2.0 launch.Android/iOS 2.18 launched this week. It included:

Hello Cloakers!
We’re late on the release notes. I know! What the heck! Normally, we have this whole “no release” Friday thing and that lets us look back and see what we actually put out in the days prior. Buuuuuuuuut….then we had some important stuff come up and “no release” Friday” turned into “what if we released on Friday” Friday. So now that it’s Monday, let’s take a look at what’s been coming through the pipe:
Dashboard released version 1.15.10
Dashboard ALSO released version 1.16.0 (Friday releases, amirite?)
On the Mobile side, we released version 2.12.0!
iOS only:
Android only:
So actually…TECHNICALLY…2.12.0 didn't come out until 4/23 (which technically makes it a this week release and not last week)…and it's for a really silly reason. As we’ve been working on the Mobile apps, different platforms teams have different priorities and roadmaps so we’ve had cases where certain bits of UI or UX are different between iOS and Android. So we did a little work this release to try and bring some of those differences into an alignment. We put that as a note in the release notes for the app! Seems fine, right? Generally positive? WRONG! <Price is Right horn sfx> Apple apparently doesn’t like you to even SAY the word “Android” in your release notes. Say what now? This isn’t high school. You both exist! lol. So the mobile apps went out the door this week, a little later than intended. But….also….like….Seriously, you can’t just CHANGE THE NOTES? The app is fine but the notes are bad so you have to resubmit the whole app and wait in the queue again? SHEESH. Anyways, LESSON LEARNED I GUESS. 😂
We truly hope your week is less silly than how ours has started.

Cloakers, near and far! How goes the week?
Today, we want to highlight a part of Cloaked that you may not have realized was even there. Yes, every Cloaked identity is a protected vault for your username, password, cloaked email, cloaked phone number and even one-time passwords….but maybe you need to save even more -> Did you know about all the custom data you can save in the “Other Information” section?
First off (despite being second), you have “Secure Notes” -> Need to make a general note about this particular identity. Is this the Amazon account you use only for buying hair dye? Maybe this is a good place to remind yourself of that.
After that you have the more general “Add More Information” which can be a lot of different things:
All of these are savable in the “Other Information” section of an identity! Even better, all of this information is protected with the same client-side encryption that your usernames, password and activity are!
Your relationship with important sites can require more than a simple username and password. Use Cloaked to keep that data safe as well!

On the Dashboard side, we launched version 1.15.9 which contains:
Also, as a reminder - We launched in Canada last week!

Hey Cloakers!
Welcome to another edition of "Cloaked: Uncloaked," where we dive deep into the cyber vortex to bring you the latest on digital safety and privacy. Today's topic? The recent AT&T data breach – a stark reminder of our fragile digital security in an age where breaches seem not just common but expected.
Check this: AT&T just spilled the beans (sooooo many beans) on a massive data spill affecting a cool 73 million of us. This isn't your average "oops, we lost an email" scenario; we're talking names, emails, home addresses, birthdays, phone numbers, and those secret Social Security numbers, all taking a wild ride to the dark web since 2019.
Cool. Thanks, AT&T. <sarcasm voice>
Is my Data in the Digital Abyss?
It's the question on everyone's lips: "Is my data out there?" If you're an AT&T customer, past or present, the unfortunate answer could be yes.Feeling a tickle of worry? AT&T’s got their roll call ready, reaching out to the 7.6 million current members and the 65.4 million alumni of their services. No word from them yet? Their account safety page is the next best stop to check:
https://www.att.com/support/article/wireless/KM1159574/
Consider this breach the universe’s nudge to up your digital wellness game. And who better to lead your personal digital wellness journey than Cloaked? Cloaked is offering a shield of anonymity for your personal info. Think email masking, unbreakable passcodes, and a whopping $1 million identity theft protection (for subscribed US-based users). With Cloaked, your personal data isn't just protected; it's practically untouchable.
What's the Move? Post-AT&T Data Adventure
Step one: Deep breaths – slowly in through the nose, hold for a few seconds, slowly out through the mouth.Step two: Let’s get your digital hygiene from "meh" to "wow." Dusty passwords? Give them a makeover. Personal info protection? Cloaked's got the wardrobe for it. With a 14-day trial that's freer than free Wi-Fi, you're all set to become the ninja of the net.
So, as we put a pin in today's digital drama, let's not just dwell on the AT&T tale of woe. Instead, let’s embrace it as the perfect kick to get our cyber selves in shape. With Cloaked in your corner, you’re not just dodging data breaches; you’re strutting through the digital world with confidence.
Keep it Cloaked.

What’s up, Cloakers? Let’s take a quick break from the “omg some giant monolioth corp got breached again” content and focus on some cool stuff you can do within Cloaked to make your privacy journey a significantly better one.
Let’s take a look at AUTOCLOAKING AI. https://your.cloaked.app/autocloak
With Cloaked, you can change all the emails and passwords associated with your various accounts….but you still have to go to those sites, enter your credentials, find their account detail change pages, process the new data, confirm it, and make sure it’s saved in cloaked. It’s a bunch of steps and sometimes, it’s not always the easiest thing to find on a site. With our Autoclok AI feature, we enable you to enter your existing credentials for a variety of websites and WE will take care of the heavy lifting, get that password/email/username changed, encrypted and sent back to you as your brand new credentials!
You can learn more about how to Autocloak AI here: https://help.cloaked.app/hc/en-us/articles/19903643695892-How-To-AutoCloak

Hey, Cloakers!
Welcome back to "Cloaked: Uncloaked" – your go-to spot for everything new and noteworthy in the Cloakiverse. Admittedly, we also have an email newsletter and a blog (and you should also check those out too)…but we are the BEST. 😆
OK REAL TALK - Today, we're diving into a breach. And not just any breach – we're talking about a whopping 15,000 Roku accounts hacked. Yes, you heard that right. Is yours next? We certainly hope not. Goodness, there seem to be a LOT of these. 😬
Let's break it down. Roku recently shed light on a security breach affecting 15,363 accounts. Hackers, using a technique known as credential stuffing, gain unauthorized access to stored credit card information. This isn't just about unauthorized binge-watching; it's about your financial security being at risk. Some affected accounts even had their login details altered and were sold online for merely 50 cents each. This could mess up WAY more than just your watch history.
Why does this matter to you?
Well, if the idea of someone else catching up on your favorite show using your account doesn't bother you, maybe the thought of them going on a shopping spree with your credit card will. This breach highlights a critical vulnerability in our online practices and the ever-increasing savvy of cybercriminals.
But fear not! Here's what you can do to protect your digital presence:
Don't just sit back and wait for your account to be the next "feature" on a hacker's watchlist. Take control of your online security with Cloaked. We're here to keep you informed, protected, and ahead of the game.
Your digital safety is our priority, and we're here to ensure it's never compromised.
Until next time, Cloakers: Stay safe. Stay secure. Keep your streaming accounts to yourself. Your mom doesn’t need to watch “Blue Bloods” on your login THAT badly. The only thing scarier than a horror movie marathon is a hacker on a spending spree with your credit card!

Hey Cloakers!
So, what's on the agenda today? Well, it's not exactly the fun meme from our Discord (though we love those too), but it is something a tad more serious and certainly impactful. We're talking about a cyber security crisis unfolding over the past couple of weeks.
A major player in the healthcare IT sector, Change Healthcare, has been hit with a crippling outage. This isn't just about delayed medical billing; it's a breach that potentially puts millions of personal health information at risk. Yikes, right?
Why should this matter to you?
Because in this digital era, your health data isn't just a bunch of numbers and notes in a doctor's office. It's a gold mine for the wrong hands, capable of impacting your life in ways you might not even want to imagine.
But hey, we're not here to just spread doom and gloom. Knowledge is your armor, and staying informed is the first step towards protection. If you're caught up in this mess, keep an eye on your accounts for anything fishy. And this goes without saying, but make sure your personal info is as secure as possible.
Don't just stop there, though. Ask your healthcare providers the tough questions. How are they safeguarding your data? What are their steps in response to such outages? Demand transparency and security. After all, it's your right. In the Cloakiverse, we believe in empowering our community. Stay alert, stay informed, and most importantly, take action. Your family's privacy and health information isn't just a concern; it's a priority.
Catch you on the next update, and remember, we're all in this together. Let's keep our digital world safe and secure.

And then while we were writing this, both mobile platforms released App version 2.9.1 (in which we found that the app needed a little extra support for a new user promotion we’re running). By the way, this is a GREAT time to remind you about the new user referral program we do: If you get a new user to sign up for a subscription, you both get rewarded! (See the Settings screen in the App or the Profile dropdown menu on the Dashboard for more info)
Finally, we asked our Customer Support Lead for a funny meme this week. He gave us this.
Thanks, Lucas. <frantically changes a few identities>

Hey Cloakers!
You MAY remember this section as "Cloaked Daily". Well as it turns out, "DAILY" was a bit of a misnomer. We're giving this a slightly different title "Cloaked: Uncloaked" and maybe a slightly broader focus. Predominantly, we'll be using this page as a place to communicate new releases and feature updates across the platform. Did we launch a cool feature? Did we fix a bug a bunch of people were annoyed about? Did we hear about a big ol' data breach that maybe you want to take some action on? This is a great place to tell you about it.
Did someone post a funny meme on our Discord that got a lot of likes? Indeed they did so here you go:
Ultimately, we want to use this as a tool to keep all of you informed as to what's going down in the multiple areas of the Cloakiverse. So expect to see more posts and hear a lot more from us in this space!

We've added customization to passwords when you're signing up for accounts in real-time. We've also added some mobile security features like 15min Biometrics time-out and more…

— Further improved security of Cloaked email APIs.
— Fixed an issue where adding the same email address in the cc or to field multiple times would cause an error.

Every email now blocks pixel trackers, automatically.
This week we launched a big update that helps protect your privacy when you’re sending and receiving emails by automatically blocking all tracking pixels in your emails. Companies use these to tell whether you’re looking at the email and track your behavior when you interact with the emails. This is just another change we’re implementing to help everyone take back control over their data!

In March, Chick-Fil-A served up a not-so-delicious announcement, revealing a “fowl” play data breach on their mobile app, which "fried" the personal details of approximately 2% of their app-loving patrons. The company discovered the breach when they noticed unusual login activity occurring within an internal account, and immediately took steps to isolate the incident and fortify against further attacks.
It is good that the company pecked away at the problem when they spotted unusual login activity, swiftly isolating the breach and fortifying their digital coop. However, customers have filed a class action lawsuit stating that the company took two months to notify them of the breach, potentially violating their rights.
